Poem by Robert Frost

Wind and Window Flower    By: Robert Frost

    LOVERS, forget your love,
And list to the love of these,
    She a window flower,
    And he a winter breeze.
    When the frosty window veil
    Was melted down at noon,
    And the cagèd yellow bird
    Hung over her in tune,
He marked her through the pane,
He could not help but mark,
    And only passed her by,
    To come again at dark.
    He was a winter wind,
    Concerned with ice and snow,
    Dead weeds and unmated birds,
And little of love could know.
But he sighed upon the sill,
He gave the sash a shake,
    As witness all within
    Who lay that night awake.
    Perchance he half prevailed
To win her for the flight
    From the firelit looking-glass
    And warm stove-window light.
    But the flower leaned aside
And thought of naught to say,
    And morning found the breeze
    A hundred miles away.

The poem called "Wind and Window Flower" by Robert Frost seems interesting because I think it is
talking about a break up between a love couple. In line "But he sighed upon the sill" I would say that
their is Auditory imagery. The reason is because he could of done the sigh of regret or relieve. In " She a
widow flower" I think their is symbol as the girl being compare as a flower. Her love towards the boy grew as
a flower but the boy was just going to play around like the breeze just passes by his love was just a pass by
for example, "And he a winter breeze" . The poem was written using the season of winter. That is also a symbol
in winter everything dies and their love died also. For instance, "A hundred miles away" should mean like the
boy was a breeze so he left the girl and the breeze moves around the world and maybe even though
miles away he still remembers the girl.
